GRAPE JAM plays BARNSTOCK!

Barnstock is thrilled to announce the return of Grape Jam on Friday, Nov 11 @ 7pm.

This powerhouse organ trio has a long history. Featuring, Gary Versace on the Hammond organ, Pete Smith on guitar and Matt Garrity on drums, the trio played together on and off for years during their time in NYC. They’ve gigged, toured and recorded one album, Grape Jam, right here in Woodstock at Applehead Studios.

GARY VERSACE
Since basing himself in New York City in June of 2002, jazz organist, pianist, and accordionist Gary Versace has quickly become one of the busiest and most versatile musicians on the scene, often featured in bands led by musicians such as John Scofield, John Abercrombie, Maria Schneider, Matt Wilson, Lee Konitz, Eliot Zigmund, Scott Wendholt, Joe Magnarelli, Danny Gottlieb, Seamus Blake, John Hollenbeck, Andy LaVerne, Adam Nussbaum, Brad Shepik, Ingrid Jensen, Tim Ries and many others.

PETE SMITH

Pete Smith is a New York City-based guitarist who performs in a wide range of musical settings. As a founding member of Grupo los Santos, a vanguard Afro-Cuban and Brazilian-style quartet, he has played New York’s Town Hall and concerts throughout the U.S., Cuba & Austria. He has performed at the Berlin Jazz Festival and Montreal Jazz Festival, as well as concerts in thirty countries throughout Europe, Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia. He has worked with Norah Jones, trumpeter Donald Byrd, Cuban trombone master Juan Pablo Torres, Andrew Hill, Kat Edmonson, Vince Giordano & the Nighthawks, the Moonlighters, Madeline Peyroux, Natalie Merchant and Huun- Huur-Tu, and is a member of Michael Feinstein’s Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. New releases to look out for are Santos’ fourth album “Santos 4” and an album with bassist Sean Smith (The Smith Duo).

MATT GARRITY

Drummer Matt has been on the New York City music scene since 1994. He has performed and recorded with some of the best in the business, including Grammy winners Vincent Herring and Joe Lovano, David Williams, Teri Thornton, Peter Bernstein, Ron McLure, Ed Cherry, Ben Monder, Ratzo Harris, Jeremy Pelt, Steve Slagle and Jerome Richardson, among others. Garrity has been living in the Hudson Valley since 2017 and produces a concert series out of his studio called Barnstock.

**The Concert**

BARNSTOCK is a monthly jazz series in Woodstock, NY. Run by drummer Matt Garrity, the space is set in the top floor studio of of a renovated 1911 barn. It’s warm, intimate setting makes for the perfect listening room. Come hear some of the best musicians on the scene in the hippest house concert you’ll ever go to, including Grammy winning artists!
